HIGHLANDS MUNICIPAL COURT
The Highlands Municipal Court has jurisdiction over petty criminal offenses, referred to as disorderly persons offenses. A disorderly persons offense is punishable by a fine, up to six months in jail and/or probation, and a possible loss of license depending on the charge. A conviction on a disorderly persons summons also results in a criminal record, which will take a minimum of five years to expunge from your record if you are eligible. The Highlands Municipal Court also handles traffic ticket and motor vehicle summonses. While municipal court is often viewed as petty, the consequences from same can be long lasting.

Directions to the Highlands Municipal Court: From the GARDEN STATE PARKWAY, Take the RT-36 exit, EXIT 117, toward RT-35/KEYPORT/HIGHLANDS. Merge onto NJ-36 E for 12.5 miles. Turn LEFT onto MILLER ST. Turn LEFT onto BAY AVE/CR-8. The Highlands Municipal Court is on the left.
